Today I want to share with you a platform that has been a great help for me. It's called Duolingo.

Duolingo is a language learning platform that offers several courses, especially if you're an english speaker. If that's the case, you have 21 different languages you can learn, including: Spanish, Greek, French, Portuguese and Swedish. As a portuguese native speaker I chose to learn English and French.

Each course is structured by different modules (the circles in the image below), and as you complete them, you unlock new ones.

Inside each module you have different kinds of exercises, such as Translating, Listening, Matching Words, etc.

In my own experience, Duolingo helped me a lot with my French skills. When I started my degree in Languages, I was already confortable with English, but not with French. I started to practice French everyday with Duolingo and it helped me to understand the grammar basics and to expand my vocabulary. Although I'm not fluent yet, it definitely helped me to take off from the beginning point.

If you're new to a language and you want to improve your skills, this platform offers a simple, effective, game-like method, which will make the whole process of learning easier and more fun. And the best of it.. it's completely FREE!!

You can also download the app for your smartphone or tablet here: Android or IOS.

Presenting my new facebook page!

This is the very first post of this blog! So TODAY I want to share with you my Facebook page Translation Of The Day!

On the past January 24th I created a Facebook page called Translation Of The Day, in which I share a new English word everyday, accompanied by the respective translations to Portuguese and French. The main reason which I created this page was to improve my language skills, since I'm graduating in languages, namely, English, Portuguese and French.
However, the point of this page is not to cover grammar related matters, but only to help me expand my vocabulary in the languages described above.

You're all invited to follow me in this learning journey 🔲
